Arteries

Femoral artery

4 small branches: Superficial epigastric artery. Superficial circumflex iliac artery. Superficial external pudendal artery. Deep external pudendal artery.

Deep artery of thigh (Profunda femoris artery)

Passes posteriorly between pectineus and adductor longus and then between adductor longus and adductor brevis. Then passes inferiorly between adductor longus and adductor magnus, then penetrate through adductor magnus to connect with branches of popliteal artery.

Lateral circumflex femoral artery

3 terminal branches: Ascending branch. Descending branch. Transverse branch.

Medial circumflex femoral artery

2 major branches: One branch ascends to trochanteric fossa and anastomoses with branches of gluteal and lateral circumflex femoral arteries. The other branch passes laterally forming anastomotic network around the hip with branches from lateral femoral circumflex artery, inferior gluteal artery, and first perforating artery.

Perforating arteries

Obturator artery

Anterior branch. Posterior branch.

Veins

Great saphenous vein

Nerves

Femoral nerve

Branches: Anterior cutaneous branches. Motor nerves. Saphenous nerve.

Saphenous nerve.

Obturator nerve

2 branches: Posterior branch. Anterior branch.

Sciatic nerve

2 terminal branches: Tibial nerve. Common fibular (peroneal) nerve.

Tibial nerve

It supplies: All muscles in posterior compartment of leg. All intrinsic muscles in the sole of the foot, except the first two dorsal interossei. Skin on posterolateral side of lower half of the leg and medial side of ankle, foot, and little toe, and skin on sole of the foot and toes.

Common fibular nerve (Common peroneal nerve)

It supplies: All muscles in anterior and lateral compartments of leg. One muscle (extensor digitorum brevis) on dorsal aspect of foot. First two dorsal interossei in the sole of foot. Skin over lateral aspect of leg, and ankle, and over dorsal aspect of foot and toes.
