"All of the countries in the Middle East have high incidence, but the Gulf area is terrible," explains Professor Adel Abdel Aziz El-Sayed, the current chair of the IDF in the Middle East and North Africa. "The Gulf area has been a disaster of diabetes and that's been delivered thanks to the discovery of oil," he adds.
