General medical terms

polyphagia
excessive hunger associated with many causes like diabetes

colpectomy
surgical removal of the vagina

colposcopy
visual examination of the tissue of the cervix and vagina through a lighted scope

cervitis
inflammation of the cervix (that is usually caused by an infection) "neck of the uterus"

amenorrhea
abnormal absence of menstrual periods for three or more months

cryptorchidism
"undescended testicle," is a congenital developmental defect when one or both testicles fail to descend

salpingitis
is an inflammation of a fallopian tube or (uterine tube)

dysmenorrhea
pain caused by uterine cramps during a menstrual period

episiotomy
a surgical incision made through the perineum (vulva) to enlarge the vaginal orifice to prevent tearing

perimetrium
is the tough, membranous outer layer of the uterus



endocervicitis
inflammation of the mucous membrane (inside lining of the cervix) lining of the cervix

mastopexy
is to affix sagging breasts in a more elevated position

oophorectomy
(also known as ovariectomy) surgical removal of one or both overies

hypocalcemia

abnormal low levels of calcium in the blood

anovulation
absence of ovulation when it could be normally expected, caused by stress, lack of nutrician, hormone imbalance

hypoglycemia
abnormally low concentration of glucose in the blood

