Apply tipping force to the incisors in attempt to break sealTesting maxillary denture stability
Apply unilateral force to posterior occlusal surface of the dentureTesting of retention and stability of mandibular denture
Alternatively apply unilateral force to posterior occlusal surfaceChecking labial notch
To check retention of upper denture
Pull down with two fingers as denture move down then holds well air will trapped under the denture To check retention of lower denture Push gently against lower anterior teeth with closed pliers as the tongue fill flour of the mouthCleaning the denture
Denture brushes are advised specially for elderly and diabetic patientThe patient should not hold the lower denture by squeezing action during cleaning the denture
Recommended method to hold lower denture
The patient should not use hot water above 70 degree for cleaning the denture this will lead to bleach denture surfacePressure identifying past is used to identify pressure area in tissue surface of the denture
Thin layer of PIP is seated on the tissue surface and the denture is seated in patient mouth then pressure area is identiyed
Any area that the past is thin or completely washed so this area is pressure area
So this area is removed by bur
