Madelung deformity

Congenital or posttraumaticLower radius curves forward & mediallyRx : if function affected  osteotomy

Kienbock disease

= crushing osteochondritis of lunate It is AVN of lunate Cause : unknown May be : relatively short ulna


CF: wrist pain & weak gripXR:  bone density collapse OARx : splintage shortening of radius arthrodesis



De Quervain`s disease
Tenosynovitis of the compartment of APL & EPB Cause : overuse CF : middle aged female pain & swelling over radial styloid Finkelstein t.

Rx : NSAIDS steroid injection surgery

Ganglion
Commonest swelling in the wrist Pathology : myxoid degeneration in a ligament or capsule It is a cyst that contains mucoid material CF : painless swelling

Rx : removal if troublesome or unsighty Recurrence is common
