Transient ischemic attack (TIA)

Transient ischemic attack (TIA) is defined as a transient episode of neurologic
dysfunction caused by focal brain, spinal cord, or retinal ischemia, without acute
infarction [1]. Central nervous system (CNS) infarction is defined as brain, spinal
cord, or retinal cell death attributable to ischemia, based on neuropathologic,
neuroimaging, and/or clinical evidence of permanent injury [2].
