SGA fetuses is those below a certain defined centile of weight (less than the10th percentile) for a particular gestational age
IUGR is failure of the fetus to achieve its normal growth potential or fetuses whose growth velocity slows down or stops.

Fetal factors
1-genetic disease
2-structural abnormalities3-chromosomal abnormalities (trisomy 13،18، 21)
4-cardiovascular disease
5-congenital infection (TORCH )
6-multiple pregnancy
Placental factors
1-reduced utero-placental perfusion (inadequate trophoblastic invasion, APS., DM, multiple gestation, placental infarction or thrombosis).2-reduced feto-placental perfusion ( single umbilical artery, twin-twin transfusion syndrome).
