Looseness of denture

Retentive clasp tip not adjusted properly.
Occlusal discrepancies.
Over extension of the saddle peripheries.
Interference with tongue movements.
Inadequate border seal.

Difficulties with speech

Contour of palatal major connector, acrylic thickness of palatal part.
Position of maxillary anterior teeth.
Position of maxillary or mandibular premolar teeth.
Buccolingual width of lower molar teeth.

Difficulties during mastication

Looseness of the denture.
Improper design & fitness to the underlying tissues.
Dull artificial teeth.
Poor neuromuscular coordination.

Problems with the appearance

Try in visit.
Position of teeth.
Color of teeth.
Thickness of flanges.

Nausea

Poor adaptation of the denture base over the hard palate.
Post dam area incorrectly shaped.
Excessive thickness of posterior palatal border.
Over extension of distolingual flanges of mandibular dentures (length & thickness).


Noise
Excessive VDO.
Inadequate retention.
Error in occlusion.
Porcelain teeth more noisy than acrylic.
