1- A young female patient complaining of easy muscular
fatigability, developed ptosis and diplopia with weakness of
speech. she was admitted to the hospital. A10mg injection
was given to her intravenously. She became able to move her
eye and lids and the muscle weakness is reduced after only 3-
4 minutes.
A-What is she suffering from and what do you expect the
injection to be?
B- What long term oral therapy might be used?
C-Why bethanecol and carbacol are not used for this case?

2-A 65 year old patient was complaining of sever headache. His
eyes were red with pain and visual disturbance. An eye drop
was prescribed for him which produce miosis. Frequent
administration of this drop resulted in gradual relief of
symptoms
.
A-Which drug do you the drop might contain?
B-What is the mechanism of the drug in producing miosis?
C-Why the symptoms and signs were relieved by this drug?
D-Which drug should cautiously be given for such patient?

A 23 year old university student ingested an insecticide preparation
containing an organo phosphorous compound in an attempt to
commit suicide. She developed headache, miosis, hypersalivation,
vomoting,abdominal colic, diarrhea, with muscle weakness and
fsciculation. She was given a 2 mg of a drug I.V and repeated every
20-30 minutes until the skin become flushed and dry, the pupil
dilated and tachycardia developed.
A- what is the case? Explain the symptoms.
B- what was the drug given to the patient?
C-is there anything else you like to add to help reversing
the enzyme inhibition?
