GLUTEAL REGION

Muscles


Deep group: Piriformis, obturator internus, gemellus superior, gemellus inferior, quadratus femoris. Superficial group: Gluteus minimus, gluteus medius, gluteus maximus, tensor fasciae latae.

Obturator internus


It forms: Anterolateral wall of pelvic cavity above pelvic floor. Lateral wall of ischio-anal fossa in perineum below pelvic floor.

Gemellus superior and inferior

Gemellus superior: from ischial spine. Gemellus inferior: from ischial tuberosity.

Quadratus femoris
